Hawthorn House
With strict Heritage Planning Controls in place, and a tight site built around a poorly located in ground swimming pool the options to extend this single storey dwelling were definitely limited.
The new addition to the rear of the dwelling provides a contemporary interpretation of the existing heritage building fabric. The roof form and building materials are traditional while the building envelope is angled to accommodate the swimming pool and its surrounds. A rear double garage has been converted to a separate outdoor recreation space.
