Fairfield House
I want to be able to see the river trees from my front door”
Located within the environmentally sensitive Yarra Corridor with long views over river to Studley Park beyond, this simple freestanding 1920’s weatherboard bungalow made little use of the scenic potential of the site.
The project brief was to create a comfortable family home which retained the period features of the existing dwelling to the front and provided for a double storey contemporary addition to the rear, which capitalised on the long views over the river corridor and bushland beyond. Wherever possible recycled materials were used.
