Black Rock House
We need light and space on the ground floor
This compact 1980’s beachside dwelling was characterised by small rooms with little outlook to the rear courtyard garden and even less sense of internal space and light.
The project brief was to open up the ground floor to create an open light filled space to provide easy living and a suitable backdrop for the client’s artwork collection. To allow for easy living into the future as the clients aged, the ground floor was re-configured to provide a self contained living space without the need to access the upper floor.
